Arrival

PhotobucketThis is not a montage, it's the reflection of me in the air plane window

I stayed in the air and now I've finally arrived in Prague. It took me an hour to install some new things in the flat and it's time to search the empty fridge for something edible.

Next up, bed.

  1. On a scale of 1-10 of how awesome that photo is. I'd give it an 11 =)

  2. Such an amazing picture! :) Wow! Wow! Wow! :) Seeing some other "Anonymous" fellow above competing with my anonymous-ness, I'm really tempted to disclose who I am :) But I guess you know that anyway... because you can tell from my :) and from my constant linguistic remarks :) I really love your Journal. You are very smart and talented in many ways. My real brother soul.

  3. thanks for the nice words you anonymous guys, I honestly don't have a clue that might reveal who you are but I guess that's fine, after all the thought is what counts.

  4. It is indeed the thought that counts.

Random acts of kindness. I think the world would be a better place with a little bit more of that. http://www.randomactsofkindness.org/ or better still Google: random acts of kindness, Danny Wallace. Maybe you could try it on someone you think could do with a smile. :)

This journal is one of the more brilliant ideas I have seen lately. I personally believe that it is important to know your ‘stuff’ but as medics we can sometimes be consumed with knowing our material from cover to cover that we forget the bigger picture..To be an okay doctor perhaps this would suffice but I think to be a brilliant doctor we should not forget to show empathy/compassion to our patients. Be careful however, empathy is not the same as sympathy.

That’s how I see it anyway.

I wish you both a wonderful day! =)

  5. I would like to say I am "Anonymous No. 1" (as I always need to be No. 1 :) and here definitely I am the first Anonymous you had to "coop" ;) with). But 1) I am not truly Anonymous because you know who I am. 2) You have a clue, come on :) But I prefer staying "technically" anonymous anyway, so don't tell me :) If you don't know who :) :) :) :) :) :) :) is, then I should smile even more :) Anyways, the comment Anonymous has just posted reminds me of excellent books by my friend, a surgeon, Bernie Siegel. Definitely worth-reading stuff, guys! Especially if you are "Medical Deity" to be :) Tom, I can lend you a few of them if you want :)

  6. Anonymous no.2 - I'll check out your link when time allows, from my recent posts you can tell I'm very interested in discussions regarding philosophy or just eye-opening tales.

Anonymous no.1 - I might be rude and ignorant but you still have to give me another clue because I'm walking in complete darkness here.
Now regarding the books you're talking about I'd be happy to have a look :) anything enlightening or inspiring is of interest, the problem is just to find the time to read between the atlases and scheme drawing...

Thanks for keeping this place alive ^^
I'll update again as soon as I have a spare minute and brainpower to do so.

    Stay tuned /TJ

  7. :) I'm happy you still do not know who I am, despite that being *so obvious* :) You must be very tired, indeed :) Bernie's books are really good for a medical doctor. But before that happens (= your becoming "Medical Deity"), I think you should read Daniel Gilbert's Stumbling on Happiness, just because it's more fun, much inspiration, good food for thinkers. I know you do not have time. But try to step *out of time*.
